“A Little About Found Objects”
I occasionally find inspiring objects while on my daily walks, or during other activities unrelated to art production. These kernels of inspiration are called found objects, and my Housekeeping Art often incorporates them.
I was first introduced to found objects in art school. Back then, I would deliberately set out to discover found objects.
When I look back now, I realize I had missed the whole point; the spontaneity of unexpected discovery is crucial to the found object as art. The reciprocal moment, when the artist finds the object, and the object becomes found, was lost in the deliberate search.
